Welcome to Temple Avodat Shalom's website, a digital representation of who we are. As hard as we try, we cannot convey the full sense of what you will experience when you visit us in person. However, you will find on the site all of the information about our congregation, our activities, and our programs. We hope you will feel the warmth of our community. The best way to know who we are is to come by and visit us in person. Join us for a Tot Shabbat, and then stay for a Family Shabbat service on the first Friday of each month. Come on any other Friday evening, or on any Saturday morning, for Shabbat Services. All of the service times are listed on the website calendar. We encourage you to explore the site to learn more about our Religious School and our TASTE (Temple Avodat Shalom Teen Experience) programs to see our wonderful educational programs, where more than 120 children and teens learn Hebrew as well as the beauty, history, and religion of Judaism.

There is something for everyone at Temple Avodat Shalom, including social action, weekly Torah study, Sisterhood events such as Rosh Chodesh programs, and regular Brotherhood card games. If you love to read, come join our book club. We offer yoga, have both an adult and a children's choir, and we have a Renaissance group with daytime activities for retired adults. Join us for our annual Jewpardy competition where we test our knowledge of a wide range of Jewish topics. We participate monthly in the walk-in Dinner Program, part of Family Promise of Bergen County.

If you are new to the area, or if you have been here for a while, we warmly invite you to come in and see us. We are committed to building a vibrant Jewish community here in central Bergen County, drawing from many towns including, among others, River Edge, Oradell, Paramus, Fair Lawn, Teaneck, Washington Township, Dumont, and Bergenfield. If you have questions, please contact me at president@avodatshalom.net, or our staff and clergy at 201-489-2463. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

B'vracha,

Audrey Rosenblatt
