NAMING CEREMONY – There are times in a person’s life when a name change is life-affirming and a most meaningful step for a trans or gender nonconforming person in particular in expressing and validating who they are. Temple Avodat Shalom’s clergy will be happy to officiate in such a ceremony.
BAR/BAT MITZVAH
By the time our children at Temple Avodat Shalom become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, it is our goal for them to be as comfortable as possible on our BEMA. They begin their training 6 months prior to their Bar or Bat Mitzvah date, but during their enrollment in our Hebrew School they get plenty of opportunity to partake in our services. Our clergy and educational staff train and work with the students to prepare them. Please call our administrative staff at 201-489-2463 (press 0) or email to administrator@avodatshalom.net with any questions you may have.
See our B'Nai Mitzvah Page for more information
