Mikah Atkind was born and raised in Needham, MA, a suburb of Boston. Mikah spent much of her childhood immersed in Jewish communities through her involvement at Temple Beth Shalom, summers at Eisner Camp, participation and leadership in NFTY Northeast, and a semester in high school on NFTY-EIE High School in Israel (now URJ Heller High).
While receiving her BA in Linguistics from Brandeis University, Mikah continued to spend her summers at Eisner and taught at several synagogues in the Boston area, developing her passion for Jewish education. She then went on to receive a Dual Masters in Jewish Education and Jewish Nonprofit Management from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, focusing on the significance of constructive communication and conflict in Jewish learning as well as in Jewish organizations. Mikah previously served as the Director of K-12 Learning and Engagement at Temple Beth Avodah in Newton, MA.
In her free time, Mikah enjoys baking challah, trying new restaurants (recommendations welcome!), and spending time with friends and family. Mikah is incredibly excited for her second year at TAS!
